Recently in the news, there has been a few headlines about the dangers of mass produced cosmetics, with the toxic chemicals that are composite in the makings of our cosmetics. So it got me thinking that, even though I am not a big user of cosmetics (I prefer the natural look), I should really have a tidy up of my make up bag and instead of keeping lots of old make up ( which is one of the worst things you can do), I would throw them away and just buy the few essentials that I will use on a regular basis.
I was lucky that it was my birthday recently so I got my girlfriends to each buy me one item. It is a great idea and helps cut the cost down and now I have a new make up bag filled with wholesome cosmetics that I actually want to use.
Inika Mineral Bronzers
If you are on the pale side like myself, sometimes we need a little extra help to look healthier. So for me I like to go for a bit of artificial help. This bronzer gives you a warm tanned look; use it on your face or mix it with your body moisturiser, to help create an all over tan, all year round. Coming in a choice of 3 skin tone colours, it is certified 100% vegan and cruelty free. Available from Buy Organics for £17.99. Continued

I personally am not a big cosmetic user and only use for nights out, weddings etc, although I have many friends who will not step out of the house unless they have their face painted so this is for them! Again if you want to start to make greener choices in your life, it would be very expensive to just run out and replace your entire make-up bag immediately but if you replace bit by bit when you finish the old one is a good option. Here are some organic cosmetic companies who can help you find your way.

Nvey Eco Make Up
Made from pure organic ingredients and bio formulas, they do not contain any of the nasties that are found in your usual brands of make up. Made by an Australian company, the make up has gone through stringent testing to make sure it gives you a professional finish look. Range includes face, cheeks, lips and eyes. Prices starting from £12.95 for eyeshadow.

Borlind Cosmetics
Developed by Anne-Marie Borlind after her quest to find a natural solution to her teenage acne, she founded the company which today brings you many different natural cosmetics and natural skin care products. Her make up range starts from £7.50 for a natural eye liner.

Elysambre Natural make Up
Well renowned for its unique brand of natural refillable make up, the products are 100% natural with organic and fair trade ingredients used where possible. Prices start from £6.95 for nail hardening base.
All these products are available to buy from Naturismo.
